Dubai Diaries: A Journey Through the Unexpected

When I first thought of Dubai, I imagined tall buildings, fancy cars, and luxury everywhere. But when I finally visited, I found out there's so much more to this city than just glamor.

I started my trip in Downtown Dubai, where I visited the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. The view from the top was amazing. I could see the desert, the sea, and the whole city below me. It felt like standing on top of the world.

After that, I wanted to see the older side of the city. I went to Old Dubai, where things are quieter and more traditional. The Al Fahidi area has small streets, art shops, and old-style buildings. I drank Arabic coffee, tried dates, and visited a few little museums. Then I took a short ride on an abra (a wooden boat) across the creek to the Spice and Gold Souks. The smell of spices in the air was strong and beautiful, and the gold shops sparkled like treasure.

One of the best parts of my trip was the desert safari. We drove over sand dunes in a jeep, which was really fun. Later, we watched the sunset—it turned the whole desert orange and gold. At night, we had dinner at a camp, watched dance shows, and sat under the stars. It was peaceful and felt far away from the busy city.

What surprised me the most about Dubai was how it mixes the old and new. One minute you’re in a shiny shopping mall, and the next, you're in a quiet mosque or a traditional market. It’s a place where the past and future live side by side.

Dubai is not just about shopping and skyscrapers. It has culture, history, and calm moments too. If you're planning a trip, I really recommend it. Come with an open mind—you might discover a different side of the city, just like I did.

During my trip to Dubai, one place I couldn’t miss was the world-famous Palm Jumeirah. This incredible man-made island is shaped like a palm tree and stretches out into the Arabian Gulf. It’s one of the most unique places I’ve ever visited—and it’s full of fun things to see and do.

One of the highlights of my visit was Atlantis, The Palm, a massive hotel and entertainment hub located at the far end of the island. Even if you’re not staying there, you can still visit the Aquaventure Waterpark (home to some thrilling water slides!) and the Lost Chambers Aquarium, where you can see sharks, rays, and colorful fish swimming in beautifully designed tanks.

I also went to The View at The Palm, an observation deck 240 meters high. From the top, you can see the full palm shape of the island, the Dubai skyline, and the endless sea. It’s a great photo spot and a must-see for any visitor.
